This is only slightly a food post. But I thought this would be a good place to point out that lattes really are more delicious when they're drunk with a large dose of self-satisfaction. And when you've got two large doses of self-satisfaction, nothing could be better. Except maybe having people in your life who know how good it feels to pat yourself on the back.

Where did that mug come from? Also, how did you get that latte so foamy?

As to the foamy-ness, you're right that that "latte" technically had enough foamed milk to count as a cappuccino. I've just gotten so used to calling any espresso drink I make to go in a travel mug a latte because I so rarely make them with foam (what's the point if you're going to put a lid on it?). It is a pity, though, because my milk foaming technique is pretty darn good. Next time you're in Hartford, I'm happy to teach you how. (It's all in the air-incorporation rate.)
